Now let's move to another
NRG oriented UK-label KLONE. I have received
from them several singles that are definately worth of dharing with you.
First one by DEZIRE called "I Don't
Want A Lover" in brilliant production by BOYZ WITH TOYZ.
Lead vocals is provided by ZOE FULLER with backing vocal by TERESA
MARIE herself! Both are great and poweful. Simply sizziling! You will
find two versions of this title: Pop One! 7" and 12". As you
can imagine 12" version is to be played in club. Track is an outstnading
NRG production with POP
and actually some TECHNO elements. Truly
high-flying, hard charging track. The "bonus" tune "Do
It Baby" also falls into NRG yet it has some HOUSE
feel in it with some haunting TECHNO strings
here and there. This is another killer production worth to be remixed.
Both female and male vocals join forces to turn this into one breath-taking
beatiful, exciting experience. Check it out! The mix features Pop One!
12" of the title song and fragment of "Do

Another BOYZ WITH TOYZ
sizzling production. This time a classic stomper by PHIL COLLINS
was revamped into high-flying NRG wonder.
This NRG-ized cover is incredibly powerful
and superb in every way. Similar to above single this one also have two
Pop One! versions: 7" and 12". In both versions high-flying
synth work and incredible vocal provided by TERESA MARIE turns
this international smash's melody to a dramatic chart-topping hit. Production
is terrific, straddling the POP fance with irresistible melody line. The
third tune featured in this single "Let The
Sunshine In" is a gem itself. This one got an opera flavor
over throughly modern bottom with dazzling synth lines that sound like
a cross between JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR and NRG OPERA. It's lush, dreamy
and just plain gorgegous! Clearly a floor-packing material. In the sound
sampler you will find Pop One! 12" mix of the title song and of course
fragment of "Let The Sunshine In".

CHECKMATE is back
with their NRG/POP interpretation of the
ERASURE classic. When you will listen to this tune and you know
ERASURE and the track itself in it's original version, you will
be convinced that the vocal is provided by ANDY BELL a vocalist
of ERASURE. Well... not really! The vocal is provided by JONO
and he really sounds like ANDY. CHECKMATE's version delivers
a pounding 2001 production that gives the track not just a "face
lift" but rather "transformation" that will work very well
for both NRG/POP crowd and the more adventurous
HOUSE jocks. "A
Little Respect" is featured in two versions: ConVinced Club
Mix and Radio Version. Additionally original production By team of GARY
MARTINS and JONATHAN EDWARDS "Take

Here is your opportunity
to listen to this classic THE BANGLES tune by another artist. You
can compare it with ROCHELLE interpretation I reviewed above. Is
there a comparison? Well.. The approach taken by GARY MARTINS is
a little bit different. The track is much faster, however it also features
some synths here and there. XQUISITE's version is also more oriented
toward fans of classic HIGH-ENERGY sound
and should make them very happy. Female powerful vocal is provided by
VICKY ROWE. You are presented with two versions of this tune: Club
Mix and Radio Version. You also shouldn't neglect "Mingames":
an original track by GARY MARTINS. Fare is even faster than the title
song and highly charged. Be prepared for fast dance. This truly club oriented
tune delivers also great synth line that send the melody soaring. Red-hot
rhythm track and killer club tune not necessary just for HIGH-ENERGY fans
but also to all of you who enjoy more EURO-TRANCE oriented sound at high
BPM. Excellent production! The sound sampler feature Club Mix of "Eternal

If you are serious DISCO/HI-NRG
follower you for sure know the name of this track. Originally sang by
TOM HOOKER gained a status of DISCO
anthem after being remixed by STOCK, AITKEN, WATERMAN and performed
by PAUL LEKAKIS. should ring a bell. This track surfaced again,
because it was used by STUART MORRISSON who directs and stars in
"Ladies Night" the stage show based on "The Full Monty"
(currently also in US). Show itself became very popular so the music itself.
Now you have the opportunity to listen this classic in more masculine
version enriched with some killer synths making this offering a crossover
between NRG and TRANCE,
yet the accent is still retained on NRG sound.
Two versions of the title tune are featured and as bonus "Rock
Your Body" is thrown at you. Fast pace NRG tune was written
by JOHN BARRY and SHAUN LOWE. Enjoy the sound samplers featuring

This batch of reviews will
concentrate mostly on HIGH-ENERGY sound
(we should get some brake from TRANCE and
TECHNO, shouldn't we?) This tune comes
from forthcoming album "Get To You".
Single features four tracks. First two are Radio Edit and Definitive
Mix of the title song:"Stay".
While the Radio Edit is HIGH-ENERGY tune,
the rich synths and melodic line gives this tune also an excititng EURO
base. Definitive Mix is almost 9 minutes long fare that brings exquisite
NRG sound to a higher degree. This is also
synth rich tune that starts with rather long intro developing to full
throttle EURONRG marvel. You should also
check "The Best I Can Do" tune
featured as third in line. This tune also teared up the NRG
circuits and caused some buzz in UK dance floor. The female vocal is
gorgeous and very appealing! Indeed a good tune. The CD closes "Chill
Out". A shorty fare to chill you out after the fast tempo
of this single kept you up. Well... Not really... This instrumental
tune delivers some great synth treat as well. Too bad it only lasts
less than 2 minutes :-) For now enjoy the sound sampler featuring Definitive
mixes of "Stay" and "The Best I
Can Do". Enjoy!
New single from ROCHELLE
called "Eternal Flame". Song
originally recorded several years back by THE BANGLES. This tune
is taken from ROCHELLE's forthcoming album "Higher".
THE BANGLES' all-time classic got reworked here pretty heavy. The production
by Almight Associates made the sound very updated. Seems to me that
most of the current HIGH-ENERGY releases
from ALMIGHTY are no longer classic NRG but rather more updated, heavily
influenced by synth work marvels. I have to tell you, I really LOVE!
this sound. While I always was fun of the classic NRG
sound, I am finding this new "flavor" even more exciting offering.
You have three mixes of the title songs and all of them are simply spectacular.
Both Fired Up Mix and Definitive Mix are excellent choices for the dance
floor. First of them will do great in EURO oriented floors while Definitive
Mix would also drive more TRANCE-oriented
fans to a higher state of extasy. The last tune: "Babylon"
is hard to qualify. It is not HIGH-ENERGY
but rather melancholic after hour club fare heavily loaded with some
electronics. For now listen to a sound sampler featuring Fired Up Mix
and Definitive Mix of the title song. Enjoy!
This is the first time
I have an opportunity to review this highly successful Norwegian project
of STIG ANTONSEN, TRUDE BARSTAD & CHRISTIAN ONSHUS. The group
already have several years of experience and achievements including
two albums and several singles. Their music was always characterized
by easy dancing rhythm and quite classic EURODANCE
sound. Group is ready to release their third album "Calling
You". First single from this album also called "Calling
You" was released several month ago and reached Platinum
status pretty fast. No wonder why, very catch EURO.
"I Am The One" is the second
single from this album and was released back in July 2001. I was pretty
much dissapointed that it features only two versions of the song. Really
there was room for more. The track is easy going and very dancable.
More club-oriented tune should really be released as well. As I said
there is room for more. Stay tune for the third single from this album
called: "Say Yeah" that was just release. If I will get the
album, I will definately review it. For now, enjoy the sound sampler
from this single.
